Anke Knapper

My name is Anke Knapper, I am a freelance illustrator and a student of Academy Minerva, part of the Hanze University Of Applied Sciences in Groningen, The Netherlands.

I was born in Assen, a small town in The Netherlands, on the 24th of June 1990.

I make illustrations and draw stories about everyday subjects and experiences. By doing so I hope to give people a different view on their own experiences. And maybe let them know that what they are doing isn't crazy or stupid. This way I hope people can speak more freely about delicate or sensitive subjects.

I also like to make illustrations that just look pretty, and have no deeper meaning.

My illustrations are colourful and graphic with a lot of details. Usually I use gouache on paper because I like the authentic look and vibrant colors. But I also use a stenciling technique with acrylic paint.
